Sacred Monkey Forest

Whilst in Ubud, we visited the Sacred Monkey Forest. It was great watching all the monkeys, how they interacted and played with each other. I particularly liked watching the mothers with their tiny babies, they were so caring and sweet.

On another note our friends Maria and Will leave Sydney today to move to Hamburg. We're going to miss them terribly and are very sad they are going. Maria and I got to know each other from our blogs, so thankful to have met and become such close friends.

Polo and I had the opportunity to take a day trip to Ubud whilst we were in Bali. My sister and cousin looked after Teddy for the day. We visited some temples, looked through the market and had a relaxing lunch - pics to come. When we go back to Bali, we'd like to stay in Ubud for a few days and explore it a bit more.

Bali plant life

One of the things I adored about Bali was the beautiful tropical plant life.

Temple by the Sea

On our way to the beautiful Rice Terraces below, our driver took us to Tanah Lot, Temple by the Sea. Sorry, no photo of the actual Temple to show you, you can see some here... There were a lot of tourists when we visited, which didn't make for the nicest experience.

Jatiluwih Rice Terraces

My sister, cousin and I went on a day trip to the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces whilst we were on holiday in Bali. I'm so glad we went and saw the beautiful, green, peaceful fields. We walked up and down the terraces, taking photos and admiring the lush and bountiful fields that you could see far into the distance.

Corner House, Bali

We ate so well whilst on holidays, there are many beautiful restaurants and cafes in Bali, very reasonably priced too. One morning, we went to the stunning Corner House for coffee, we met the lovely Fliss - who I've gotten to know on Instagram over the years. It was so nice to meet an online friend in real life. We chatted so freely and could have easily spent more time together. I look forward to meeting up with Fliss and her family the next time we're in Bali.

Corner House is beautifully designed and is run by an Aussie couple. Look at those tiles?! I had a delicious juice, we didn't eat anything, but from what I saw the food looked great.

Neighbourhood details: Bali style

As mentioned in my previous post, we stayed in the area of Canggu whilst in Bali. We rented an amazing villa with an incredible private pool. Canggu is an up and coming area, it's known for it's surf beaches and is 10 minutes from trendy Seminyak. We took a couple of walks around the area and to the beach, as well as drove around with a lovely local driver. I loved looking out on to the green rice fields that were everywhere.
